Some Georgia License Reinstatements Can Now be Done Online

The Georgia Department of Driver Services is expanding their repertoire of online offerings.  One of the most difficult and time-consuming aspects of dealing with the agency on driver's license issues involves reinstatement of licenses following one or more suspensions.  Such a process can often require multiple trips to a service center to deal with the compliance issues.

The department will now allow licensees to log into an account on the website which is at http://www.dds.ga.gov .  By doing so, a license holder can determine when they are eligible for reinstatement and can view, print or email a list of the specific reinstatement requirements.  At the same time, reinstatement fees can be paid online.

The resulting checklist should assist license holders in showing compliance when they visit a service center or mail in the required documenation.
